Weekend in Poitiers

Avec des bières!

This weekend, the Desoutters were kind and generous enough to invite Chloe and I to take the train to Poitiers, a small and very old city southwest of Paris, where they have a house. The slower-moving, more relaxed town was the perfect answer to all the stresses of Paris. The Desoutter's home was really amazing- parts of it had survived since the 14th century and it was loated on one of the oldest streets in Europe. It had a beautiful garden next to a lovely swimming pool that Chloe and I enjoyed as soon as we arrived on Friday.
Delicate little flowers were everywhere.
Feeling relaxed and happy by the pool.
We later went out and saw the 'nightlife' in Poitiers - it has a larger student to resident population than any other town in France so there really are a great deal of bars to choose from. More pictures to come from the rest of the weekend when I have time - I am feeling really busy and a bit overwhelmed with TEFL at the moment!
