Fabric and Mercerie Shopping in Paris

Shops in Paris are organized in a very interesting way.
For each particular type of business, instead of being dispersed evenly throughout the city, they clumped together into quarters - the Artist's Quarter full with all the art galleries is located in 7th arrondissement, the fine china shops are in 9th arrondissement, etc.
On a mission for Fete in France the other day, I discovered the fabric stores.

Head up to Montmarte in the 18th arrondissment. Get off on Metro stop Anvers on blue Line 2. Here, at the foot of Sacré-Coeur as you ascend, you will find many fabric shops and merceries (the shops with the lace, trim, button and zippers). Walk to Place St. Pierre to find Marché Saint Pierre, a five story fabric warehouse.
This area also has very cheap pillows and other nesting items that would have been so useful when Chloe and I were settling in our apartment. Or, for Halloween to put together a creatively awesome yet inexpensive costume. Now I know!
